I checked out some of Moyo Ogundipe's work...the energy and joy jump from the canvas! I especially like Visage of a Woman #2, intricately beautiful and also Emperor Sundiatta's daughter, loved the "royal" purple expression.

Hey Meg,

Naturally, all of my deeper thoughts these days are related to Romania. =) I had noticed while there how little color--or even visual beauty itself--there was there. Now after reading your posting, I realize that, beyond some architecture, there was very little art. I'm sure that's still a remnant of communism, but I think it says something about where the people are at. My thought had been (naturally) was that they needed to start some urban gardens. Want to come along to do some murals with street kids? =)

I feel I'm not deep enough to leave comments on your blog... your blog's for artistic, creative thinkers! But I get out of my comfort zone, just for you. You need to get out of your comfort zone and comment on my baby-drenched blog. Even if you have to comment on the color of their poo! What are friends for, anyway? ha!
